Tip 1 -
Extremely neglected tiles, porcelain baths and sinks might need cleaning with spirits of salts. Gloves should be worn, care needs to be taken to keep children and pets at bay, and skin should be protected.
Fill water in whole to a steam cleaner, and add one tablespoon of acid to the hot water injection feature. Spray about 0.5 sqm at a time, beginning at the bottom and working upward. Leave the spray on for a minute. Wipe off with clean water or microfibre cloth to pick up the residue.
When
the job is finished, wipe all over with clean water containing one tablespoon
of washing soda to neutralise the acid and use microfibre glove to absorb the remaining leftovers.
You may wish to use Jetsteam Maxi or Jetvac
Junior to thermally steam and disinfect the surface to leave it to dry
and restored completely.
A cracked bathroom basin can be patched until a replacement is possible. Work from the underside of the basin, and wash the length of the crack with Duplex's steam cleaning equipment such as Jetsteam Professional to remove traces of grease and soap. Then stretch a length of wide waterproof adhesive plaster along the length of the crack and smooth out all air bubbles.
Apply a coat of white paint and when this dries, a second coat. Do not use the basin for 24 hours.
Rust marks on a bath or basin can be easily removed with high pressure steam cleaner. Simply apply the dry steam at high pressure, for instance, at 8 bar pressure, to wipe off the marks and restore the surface.
